Rishab Shetty's latest action drama film 'Kantara : Chapter 1' is still buzzing at the box office - all this despite a slew of newcomers in Telugu and Tamil. And the strength just doesn't seem to be waning
Went Over Rs 175 Crore Mark in Hindi
The fact that a Kannada film like 'Kantara Chapter 1' has made waves in the Hindi belt - and made over Rs 175 crore in the process - is a pretty impressive one. In the dubbing circuit, regional films hardly ever reach this kind of numbers. But then 'Kantara Chapter 1' is a pretty special film - Rishab Shetty's storytelling & acting just seem to have cast a spell on Hindi audiences.

Now the question - will it make it to the Rs 200 Crore Club?
Right now all eyes are on whether 'Kantara Chapter 1' has what it takes to crack the Rs 200 crore club in Hindi. Box office analysts & fans alike are all buzzing with excitement - although, its a case of we'll just have to wait & see - the answer is likely to depend on how two new Hindi releases tomorrow - 'Thamma' & 'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat' - perform. Whatever happens though - so far , 'Kantara Chapter 1's Hindi run ( so far Rs 175 crore) is already a solid achievement.

Behind the film's success is a solid team effort
The film was produced by the great Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films. Team 'Kantara' has an impressive cast with Rishab Shetty in the lead , supported by Rukmini Vasanth and Gulshan Devaiah. The music & background score, courtesy Ajaneesh Loknath, was another key element in the film's runaway success.
The thing to keep in mind though is the real magic of 'Kantara Chapter 1' is the strong content which continues to attract moviegoers despite all the new releases.
