Now let’s talk about Jurassic World Rebirth which is expected to be a big hit at the box office on July 4, 2025. With Universal counting on the franchise’s big fanbase and a holiday release, this new installment in the Jurassic Park series is going to stomp its way to the top according to Boxoffice Pro.
This has the star power and dino-sized spectacle to bring in audiences with Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali and Gareth Edwards directing. Early numbers are pointing to an opening weekend of $80-120 million maybe even more than the $82 million debut of Jurassic World: Dominion in 2022.

Rebirth is perfectly timed for the extended Independence Day weekend when families, teenagers and die hards are looking for entertainment and it’s coming out on July 2, 2025. With no major competition it has a clear path to victory.
Universal will probably go all out with the marketing focusing on the visuals and a story that brings in new characters with the classic Jurassic feel. If the trailers and early word of mouth hit the right notes this could be a film that will keep filling theaters long after its release.

But it’s not always easy. Although it got off to a great start the last film Dominion got mixed reviews which hurt its longevity. To keep the momentum of Rebirth it needs to bring something new while still delivering the dino thrills its fans love. Gareth Edwards is great at making visually stunning films like Rogue One but audiences will want a new story not another repeat. If it can find that balance it will keep audiences attention.
Jurassic World Rebirth could be a summer blockbuster maybe even $300 million in the US if everything goes according to plan. Especially in Europe and China where Jurassic films always do well it has a good chance of hitting $1 billion worldwide. This is Universal’s big push to keep the franchise relevant for a new audience and I’m looking forward to see if it works. Everyone loves a good dinosaur rampage right?
