Following Superman Day celebrated on April 18, DC Studios has released a new promotional poster for the upcoming DC Universe film ‘Superman’. Directed by DC Studios co-CEO and renowned director James Gunn, the film is set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
David Kornswet makes his debut as Clark Kent/Superman, while Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Fillion, Eddie Gathegi, Isabella Merced, Anthony Carrigan, and Frank Grillo star.
The new poster features David Korentsvett’s Superman, in his iconic suit, with his arms crossed and a powerful pose against a blue sky. The poster is reminiscent of a piece of artwork by renowned comic book artist Alex Ross from the epic miniseries ‘Kingdom Come’, which featured a Superman in a similar pose. The vibrant colors and striking design are the highlight of the poster, reflecting the film’s light-hearted and modern marketing approach.
In contrast to the serious style of the previous DC Extended Universe (DCEU), the poster suggests that this new Superman film takes a more lighthearted and immersive approach. James Gunn’s unique vision and this connection to Alex Ross’ comic legacy highlight the attempt to redefine the classic spirit of Superman for a modern audience.
